1. How we enforce our standards

To safeguard our community, Flourish uses both automated tools and human moderation to detect, review, and take action on content or behaviour that violates our Acceptable Use Policy or Terms of Service (together, ‘our standards’).

Our standards prohibit:

  • illegal content, including terrorism, child sexual exploitation and abuse (CSEA), fraud, scams, and other unlawful activity; and

  • harmful content that may not be illegal, such as sexually explicit or violent material.

We use automated checks, including machine-learning tools, primarily to detect fraudulent content. Any flagged content is reviewed by trained moderators. We also rely on user reports to help us identify content or behavior that violates our standards.

2. How to report content

If you encounter content that you believe is illegal, harmful, or otherwise in breach of our standards, please report it to us by emailing contentsafety@flourish.studio.

Please include:

  • a link (URL) to the content

  • why you believe it violates our standards

  • any additional information that may help us identify the issue

If you believe that the content is also illegal in the EU, please also include the following information in your email:

  • An explanation of the reasons why you believe the content is illegal, including which EU country you think the content is illegal in and which law you think the content breaches (if possible);

  • Your name and email address (optional), so that we can inform you about the outcome of your report; and

  • A statement confirming your belief that the information and allegations in your notice are accurate and complete.

What happens next

When we become aware of content which violates our standards, we may take one or more of the following actions. Generally, we will notify the content owner and explain our decision.

  • Content removal: The content is removed from Flourish and any third-party sites where it was embedded.

  • Account suspension: Temporary or permanent suspension of access to Flourish.

Accounts that are primarily used to violate our standards or cause serious harm may be disabled immediately. Repeated violations over time may also result in permanent suspension.

3. Appealing actions taken on your content or account

Sometimes we make mistakes on content moderation decisions. To help us get it right, we give users the opportunity to reach out and appeal decisions about their content or account. We welcome getting more context and other information to make informed decisions.

Those who report content for violating EU or UK law can also appeal where they disagree with Flourish’s decision.

Appeal rules

  • Time limit: Lodge your appeal within 180 days after the date you were notified of the decision (or otherwise became aware of the decision).

  • Information: Please ensure you include a reference to the original decision, a detailed explanation as to why you are appealing the decision, and all relevant evidence to support your appeal. If we do not have enough information, we may not be able to process your appeal.

  • Abuse: We may take actions to restrict or prevent the processing of appeals from people who abuse our appeals channel.

Appeals must be submitted to: contentsafety@flourish.studio.

What happens next

When you lodge an appeal, our moderation team reviews the content again. We’ll notify you of the outcome of your appeal.

For users, if your appeal is successful:

  • your content or account will be restored

  • any applicable strike will be removed from your account

For reporters, if your appeal is successful, we will take action against the reported content or account.

Depending on where you are located, you may have other appeal and redress options. For example, if you disagree with the outcome of an appeal, or believe we have removed or restricted access to your content or account in breach of our Terms of Use, you may be able to seek redress through an out-of-court settlement mechanism (where available in your jurisdiction) or by bringing a claim before a competent court.

For our EU users, we have more information in the ‘Digital Services Act’ section below.

For our UK users, we have more information in the ‘UK Online Safety Act’ section below.

4. The Digital Services Act (EU only)

The European Union’s (EU) Digital Services Act (DSA) applies to all Flourish users in the EU. It sets rules for preventing illegal content, handling user complaints, and cooperating with EU authorities.

Pursuant to Article 13 of the DSA, Flourish has appointed EDSR as its legal representative. You can contact EDSR regarding matters pertaining to the DSA:

  • by email at compliance@edsr.eu

  • by writing to EDSR at Avenue Huart Hamoir 71, 1030 Brussels, Belgium

  • by phone at +32 2 216 19 71

Single point of contact for EU authorities and users in the EU

Flourish has designated single points of contact for the purposes of the DSA.

Requests from authorities must meet the requirements of Articles 9(2) and/or 10(2) of the DSA and must be submitted in English or German.

Reporting illegal content

Flourish users, trusted flaggers, and members of the public can report content that may be illegal in the EU by following the steps outlined in Section 2 (How to report content) above.

Appeals and dispute resolution for EU users

Users may appeal moderation decisions as described in Section 3 (Appealing actions taken on your content or account) above. If you have reported content as violating EU law and disagree with our assessment, you may also appeal our decision using the same process.

In addition, if you are in the EU, you may be able to challenge moderation decisions (including if you disagree with the outcome of an appeal) through out-of-court settlement or a competent court. Under the DSA, each EU Member State must certify out-of-court settlement bodies to handle eligible disputes. The European Commission publishes and updates a list of certified out-of-court dispute settlement bodies. You can view this information here. Each certified body has its own rules for filing an appeal. For information on how to submit a claim, visit the website of the relevant certified body.

Decisions by out-of-court dispute settlement bodies are not binding on you or on Flourish.

Information on users in the EU

In accordance with requirements under the DSA, the average number of EU monthly active users of each of the in-scope Flourish Service(s) between January – June 2026 was below 45 million. This information was prepared for DSA compliance and should not be used for other purposes.

We will continue to publish future reports here as they become available.

5. The UK Online Safety Act (UK only)

Flourish is committed to meeting its responsibilities under the UK Online Safety Act (OSA).

If you’re in the UK and have a concern about Flourish’s compliance with its obligations under the OSA - for example, if you have a complaint relating to our content reporting processes or think we have used proactive technology in a way that does not comply with our terms - you can contact us at contentsafety@flourish.studio. Please include the specific obligation you believe has been breached.

This process is separate from appeals about content moderation or account decisions. If you wish to appeal a decision, please follow the steps outlined in Section 3 (Appealing actions taken on your content or account) above.
